Every week we’ll pass the microphone to someone new, from the owner of a brand we carry to a customer we know and love. Everyone has something to share!
Here at MC everything we do has an end goal. For the podcast that goal is to get to know our community better and introduce the folks that make Modern Companion so unique and exciting.
What is Modern Companion?
Modern Companion is a small, female owned and operated pet boutique in Chapin, SC. We believe that pets are lifelong companions that deserve quality products and vibrant communities.
About our host
Maddie Shutts is the owner and creator of Modern Companion. She’s a millennial dog mom with a love for all things dog (and Taylor Swift).
Maddie created Modern Companion in 2019 when she was 23. She had trouble finding flattering accessories for her spotted dog, a Dalmatian named Domino.
We still create and carry our handmade accessories, but Modern Companion has grown so much since 2019! Maddie now owns a brick and mortar location in Chapin, regularly helps host local events, and keeps an eye on trends emerging in the pet industry.
When away from the store, Maddie enjoys the company of her 3 dogs, 4 cats, and her husband, Jordan.
